Having practiced law for over 28 years, Craig brings a world of experience to the mediation table. Craig has been board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Specialization for over 20 of those 28 years and has tried every shape and size of case there is—we’re talking the good, the bad, and the ugly.
One of the biggest incentives to settle a case (if not the biggest) is the uncertainty of trial. Craig understands the unpredictability of judges and juries. He has seen great lawyers lose good cases, and he has seen bad lawyers win crappy cases. He has experienced that unpredictability first hand, and has had to console shell-shocked clients in the courthouse hallway in the aftermath of an unexpected ruling. Craig’s familiarity with the agony of defeat has been instrumental in his ability to convey the risks of trial in the mediation setting.
These days, Craig finds the greatest satisfaction when, at the end of a mediation, a lawyer or party shakes his hand and says, “I didn’t think this case could ever settle.”
